Minutes 4 March

We have now received the Green Flag Status Award, our main project is to improve the school energy and reduce paper.

Ravneet - is to come up with a menu for a proposed meat free day / organic meat day

Harsimrat - is to talk to the Head of Years about cutting down on paper use in PDS

Janki and Ammarah - are to speak with Mr Freeburn and come up with ideas for switching PC's off during the holidays. Could there be an automatic switch off after an hour?

Zoya and Jess - are to speak with Mrs Crowther at Bradford university to see if the date for 'Turning fat to fuel' workshop can be changed

Joanne and Anjali - are to get into contact with other school and see if links can be made and if we can share ideas on making schools greener

Sam - is to speak with Mr Penkett about awards

James - is to design a page that can be placed in the planners for next year encouraging people to recycle and reduce the academy's carbon footprint.

All to report back next week with findings and ideas.

The eco-council have been recording peoples views in the academy on a variety of green issues. Each week, we will have an episode of staff or students saying their opinions.
